In an episode of the program "Grandparents' Tales," one of our guests recounts the memory of an old dream that was not meant to be fulfilled; the dream of pursuing studies and joining a boarding school, after she proved her excellence and obtained a school certificate. In fact, officials encouraged her to continue her education so she could return and teach in her village.
She had joyfully packed her bag and waited for the day to go to school, but a social decision prevented that, out of fear of the girl living away from her family home, making it the first disappointment in her life, and the first dream she had to give up despite her passion for learning.
As the years passed, she found in drawing and embroidery other spaces to express her talent, and she accepted what life brought her with a contented heart and gratitude for the blessings she had attained.
A story that encapsulates a postponed dream and a decision that changed the course of a life, reminding us of the many dreams that did not stop due to a lack of passion, but because circumstances did not grant their owners the opportunity.
